Plan your race fuel strategy with our free sim racing fuel calculator. Calculate exactly how much fuel you need, plan your pit stops, and get a full stint breakdown for Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), Assetto Corsa EVO, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, and more. Enter your race length, average lap time, and fuel consumption to get started.
To calculate fuel for an Assetto Corsa Competizione race, you need three things: your race duration (or total laps), your average lap time, and your fuel consumption per lap. The calculator divides race time by lap time to get total laps, then multiplies by fuel per lap. Always add 2-3 extra laps of fuel as a safety margin to account for incidents, safety cars, or slower laps.
A formation lap is the warm-up lap before the race start where all cars follow the safety car or lead car to the grid, and uses roughly one lap of fuel. Toggle the "Include Formation Lap" checkbox to add this extra fuel to your calculation. This is especially important in endurance races where running out on the last lap would be devastating.
The "Refuel (MFD)" column in the stint breakdown table shows exactly how much fuel to enter in your car's MFD (Multi-Function Display) at each pit stop. These values are always rounded up to ensure you never run short. In ACC, you can pre-set your pit strategy fuel amount before entering the pits.
The best way is to run 3-5 practice laps at race pace and check your car's HUD or MFD for the average fuel consumption. In ACC, the HUD shows real-time fuel usage. In iRacing, check the fuel tab in the garage. Fuel consumption varies by track, car, driving style, and weather conditions, so always practice on the specific track/car combination you'll be racing.
Yes. The fuel calculation math is universal across all racing simulators. Select your sim from the dropdown to get the correct fuel unit labels (litres vs. gallons). This calculator works for Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), Assetto Corsa EVO, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate (LMU), rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, and any other sim racer where you need to plan fuel and pit stops.
